The End Of Snapcase
Posted by Ryan on Thursday,
11.25.04 |
Well, it's been awhile, but this will be probably the last post I ever make for this site. Snapcase has decided to disband, but will play one final home show before calling it quits. The said show will take place on January 22, 2005, in Buffalo, NY. I won't go into the details about why they decided to split, but I will make you aware of a few things that you should know. First, a DVD release is possible sometime in the future, as well as the release of one newly recorded song, but it is not clear whether or not these projects will ever see the light of day. Second, Frank, Dustin, and Ben have formed a band called Ourelves with their friend, guitarist Steve Kabza, and are currently looking for a vocalist. Their stuff can now be found at ourselvesrock.com. And finally, keep spinning those Snapcase discs until the end of time. Snapcase was one of the most inspirational bands of my life and the lives of most fans of intelligent hardcore from the last decade, and they will continue to be. The end of an era, to be sure. |

New Video and Possible Album
Posted by Ryan on Sunday,
07.06.03 |
Hey everyone, I'm back after a few month vacation from the site. I'm guessing the layout won't change drastically from here on out, unless someone wants to help me with it, but I'll try to keep it updated. Two new bits of news to announce. The new video for "A Synthesis Of Classic Forms" is now available and can be downloaded through the video section. Also, the covers/demos/b-sides/ disc that had previously been mentioned at the Snapcase Forum now looks like it may actually be coming out. Look for a release of the possible-album through Victory in the future. Snapcase has not been very busy lately, and no tour plans seem to be shaping up, so just check out the boards and start up conversation.

Ben and Andy Injured, Cancellation As A Result
Posted by Ryan on Sunday,
02.09.03 |
At Snapcase's last show at the Juz Folsterhohe in Saarbruecken, Germany this past Friday, February 07th, Ben, the drummer, and Andy, the tour manager, were injured during a fight that took place at the show. The show in Paris was cancelled, but the remainder of the tour is undetermined. For a more detailed description read the following passage from someone who was at the show and stay tuned to see if there's more cancellations.
"Since I'm pretty sure no one in Snapcase has internet access right now, I'll let you guys know what's up. Yes there was a huge fight at the show last night. People were hurt and taken to the hospital in ambulances. Apparently some "tough" Russian kids were getting pretty violent during the show and punching kids in the face. During Snapcase's 2nd song they stopped playing in order to get the assholes out of the club starting fights. That's when Ben, the drummer got injured, along with their tour manger Andy. Ben was knocked unconscious and taken to the hospital. He did have to stay overnight, but he's OK. Also Andy, their tour manager broke his jaw and had to get it wired shut. But he is OK too. Some of the dudes in the Hope Conspiracy were also injured, as well as some friends of Snapcase that were at the show, but I'm not sure about the details on them. The show in Paris tonight is cancelled, as of this morning Snapcase was still in the hospital in Germany. They will hopefully continue the rest of the shows on the European tour this upcoming week. Everyone wish Ben, Andy, and anyone else injured the best of luck in quickly recovering."

The Future
Posted by Ryan on Saturday,
02.08.03 |
Here's what's going to be happening with the site. I am going to work out a new layout to add something new to the site. After all, this one was only supposed to be a temp anyway. It should be nicer. When I get the new layout up I'll add all of the content that I've kind of forgotten about. And by the end of today I should have some more pics up, this time from the Germany show on the 3rd. Once again they are from Cindy. Everyone else should be like her and help out the site by sending their pics in. Just a thought.

Frank has set up a streaming MP3 server of Snapcase songs that is still in the testing phase. You need to direct whatever MP3 player you have to the URL at the end of this message to check it out. Once you check it out hop on over to the forums and give some comments to help out. Here's the URL you should set your player at: http://snapcase.com:8000/listen

Upcoming Plans
Posted by Ryan on Monday,
11.25.02 |
After touring through December 15th in Europe, Snapcase plans to come back to the U.S. to some to all the cities that they didn't make it to on the past tour with Boysetsfire in January and February. There has also been rumors of a spring tour of Japan, New Zealand, and Australia. After that they would come back to the U.S. in the summer and tour again. I'll inform you if it is confirmed at all. Also, the official Snapcase merchandise site is now up. The link to it is in the nav bar. |

First off, just say vote at the video Coagulate while you can, here, as a viewer's choice video on MTV. Also, Jon, the guitarist for Snapcase, and his wife Tracey had the addition of a baby boy to their family on 10.23.2002. The boy is named Evan Jon Salemi and you can check out pictures of Jon, Tracey, and others with the baby here. |
